Annual 4th of July to Nebraska

Fourth of July has become a tradition now for the past few years.  Since Craig's parents bought a home on a lake....there really is no better place to celebrate the fourth.  So Craig's brother's family and our family have taken to traveling there to celebrate.  It's always a little crazy and a lot of fun.....

Day 30:  Our Saturday dawned rainy rainy rainy with more rain in the forecast.  That didn't deter my two persistent fishermen.

Andie wanted to take a little spin in the kayak and I didn't want to lifeguard her from the dock in the rain.  So I went for a little swim.  In the 60 degree air temperature, the water felt amazing!

After some fishing and kayaking we took in a matinee.

Day 31:

Not a whole lot warmer but no rain so we did a lot of this:

Swimming and fishing were on the agenda.

Day 32:

Caleb with his catch of the day

Craig with his catch of the day.  Probably the biggest bass he has caught to date.

And Grandpa taking the kiddos out for a little spin on the boat:

Some more kayaking

And Caleb trying his hand at it:

Then it was time to prepare for the show.  They have a show the night before the 4th in town but the real show is on the lake the night of the 4th.  It is super cool/a little crazy.

Day 33:  Drive home and enjoy some down time with legos.  After a brief break from legos my kiddos can't get enough of these this week.

So a great 4th....how is summer one third of the way over!?!?
