The states' weather has imprisoned us to the same four walls these past few months here but spring is definitely in the air. Puddles have returned. Birds are chiriping. No longer are we confined to sit and stare at the same four walls. No longer do we take out the same objects to look at. No longer are we playing the same board games. No longer are we having time in the yard by simply walking to the mailbox as our exercise.
We have broken free folks. We are out!
An hour plus at our favorite park....oh how we have missed you park. (And mom....no we did not get a dog.....we are dog sitting this weekend!) You can't tell in this picture because the trails are groomed for cross country/snowshoeing but there is a good 2 to 3 feet of snow we are walking on. Leave the hard packed stuff and you are waist (if you are one of my kids) or thigh (for us) deep in it!
Here the kids yelled: DIRT MOM!! Like it was the best thing on earth. Yes, we haven't seen you in awhile ground. You look amazing after your hibernation all winter. Let's do this again sometime soon shall we?
Seriously, look at those faces. Those are the faces of some happy, dirt-loving kids.
Some impromtu sliding. Hopefully in the next couple weeks we won't be able to do that here because there will be an open creek returning!!
Some impromtu swinging from vines. Craig made it out ok.....don't know if I can say the same for the tree the vine was attached to however.
And a little open water. My daughter decided she wanted to play in it. That water has to be 32 degrees so we let her stomp in the creek for all of two minutes but she enjoyed those two minutes quite a bit.
A few "sirens" have been alerted on our jailbreak (my neighbors tell me we have more snow coming this week) but I don't know if they will take me back alive. I am ready for this life beyond the four walls.
Your family is so fun!! :) Love the outdoor play! We did that yesterday finally! Yay for warm weather!!!!
