It sure feels like summertime around here. I get a little crazy the first few weeks of summer. I have missed hanging out with the kids while they are in school and so I try to fit EVERYTHING in that I have missed doing with them: hiking and swimming and going for picnics and biking and fishing. So I will settle down into our summertime in the next week or two but we sort of go "Full Speed ahead Summer" the first few weeks. The hot weather this week helped.
So Week two in pictures:
Day 8: Friday, June 5th. Making good on a reward for doing chore charts. I spent $4 for the week and in return 15 beds were made, 15 chores done, 10 math sheets for older two and 5 ABC sheets for Caleb were done, 5 days of Bible studies, 15 times teeth were brushed in the a.m. Money well spent.
Day 9: Saturday, June 6th. Nice morning to visit a local lake and go fishing. 2 Blue Gills were caught and released.
Day 10: Sunday, June 7th. Andie still had a fever and sore throat so no church for us this a.m. We sat around and ate cherries in our backyard instead.
Day 11: Monday, June 8th. Feeling much better today. A look at our little Bible study/arts and craft project. We are reading about Joshua and came to the part where they took stones out of the Jordan to make a memorial to tell their children about the great things the Lord had done. So we colored and decorated rocks with sharpies to make a little memorial inside to remind us of the great things the Lord has done in our lives.
Also, Monday is baseball night. We have a 6 year old who is really loving baseball this year. It has been fun to see the improvement in just 5 weeks!!
Day 12: Tuesday, June 9th. 94 degrees = time to spend some time at our favorite watering hole: Flandrau State park. Sand, sun, friends, even some older girls from to help me keep Caleb alive....which is usually my main focus at the pool these days with him. No fear in that one.
Day 13: Wednesday, June 10th. Bike ride to a little park and watermelon for a snack. Kids really didn't want to play long. So we ate, played for a few minutes, and biked home. Better luck next week.
Day 14: Thursday, June 11th. Rainy Day. This is what quiet time looks like around here these days. Andie has been reading about an hour at this point.
Love hearing this one read to me these days. We are at that point where we are hearing more fluency in reading.
Week two in the books!!
